Where have we been and when are we going?

I don't even know how to start a blog post, its been so long since I've done one! Eek!  Haven't posted since September 30th as we shared about our upcoming Adoption FUNdraiser Auction coming home, which let me say, was amazing. The support of those who crafted, created, donated was immense and the blessing of many of bid and won and donated was tremendous! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for participating, donating and helping us bring home our Benjamin Tae Ju.

Much has changed. Life has gotten busier. We are a homeschooling family and so this homeschooling mama doesn't stay up as late and write blog posts as I used too.  Each week goes fast and yet some of them felt long, but next week we are heading out to Seoul!!!

As months have passed and the process has moved forward for us....
- Steps -
  • Emigration Permission submission - DONE
  • Emigration Permission approval - DONE
  • Benjamin's paperwork submitted to Family Court for review
  • Assigned a Court Date which dictates first trip
  • First Week-long Trip to South Korea (includes meeting Benjamin and appearance in Family Court)
  • Waiting Period (not sure how long)
  • Second Week-long Trip to South Korea & Bring Benny home!

There was quite a bit of waiting, ah yes, and in the waiting we saw God's faithfulness.  Before we received a court date, I reached a place of peace with the Lord.  I surrendered, accepted the truth that His ways are not our ways but we are to walk in them to be faithful to the Lord.  He has been faithful to us because God is faithful. He is good. And that's what I came to - God is good ALL the time, and if God is always goodness, and God has called us to this, God IS most certainly at work, even when we don't see it, God is doing good and God is always loving, because that's what He is, love, always. Yes, massive run-on sentence, but that's how my brain is functioning right now, like a massive run-on sentence. God is faithful. God is love. God is good. I can say that now with greater faith than at any other time of my life, He is faithful.  I wanted to post about God's faithfulness before we received a court date. Its not just because of our upcoming travels that we have joy and peace in our hearts.  Its because somewhere along the way, during the path we walked without any control of our son's circumstances, I finally came to a place of giving my little boy to Jesus and truly trusting Him with Benny, and allowing God to be who He is, not who I want Him to be or do on my timeline, for my family, for my son, but for His glory and His will. That was years in the making.

We are waiting and learning and growing, and God is at work in our family, we know that.  Can't say that the past 6 months were easy, nor the past 3 years of waiting.  But hey, what's a few years of waiting for our boy when we many years ahead together? Not much. He is worth every second. Love him, love him so much.

I'm starting the blog up again as we prepare to travel. Thank you for the prayers more than anything, the friendship, the love, the financial support, the carving and sanding and sewing and baking and donating, the gifts for our trip, the hugs, the encouragement, the cake-pop making and bow-making, the Bible verses, the articles, the Thirty-One Bag-buying, the listening, the tear-catching, the love you've shared and dreaming along with us. We are blessed beyond what we can express and beyond what we deserve and honestly, we are so stinking excited to meet our son. Thank you Jesus!
